Julia Cameron

We viewed Julia Camerons work at the National Science Museum. http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmuseum/Plan_your_visit/exhibitions/julia-margaret-cameron

One of the main reasons I liked this exhibition was because I thought her worked looked quite theatrical which was of interest to me as I liked seeing the characters she had tried to portray in her work. I also like how soft-looking all of the portraits were but she still managed to capture detail like facial hair and the eyes etc were still sharply focused. This made them look quite dream like which fit in with the theatrical side of it as she had tried to recreate stories. Her work in the exhibition was taken during around 1864.

I don't often like old photography but I really liked these as I liked seeing the historical side like being able to see the clothing they wore and how houses/gardens were decorated in a time that I was not around as it is interesting to see how people from a different period of time looked and how they styled things as it is very different to today.
