I looked at the work of Alec Soth whilst in London at the National Science Museum.
I was drawn in by the colours in the images straight away, the turquoise blues, greens, greys and hints of bright colours as they reminded me of the 1950's coloured photographs which I really enjoy looking at and using filters to make my own images look like they were taken in the 1950's.
My favourite images in this series were the images of the bed, mattress and furniture strewn about the woods/water/plants as usually you would see nature being destroyed by man made objects but in these images its as though the natural objects are destroying the man made objects and this is very contrasting to what we would usually think/see in todays world so it makes them interesting to view and because they are almost landscapes, they are beautiful to see.
I love how all of the images are different, they are in different scenes with different people to show the variety of situations and backgrounds in the same kind of area. It shows how you can have a contrast of people living in the same area.
